Your U.S. patent will only protect you against others making, selling, or using your invention within this country, or importing it from other countries. It will not enable you to prevent others making, selling, or using your invention outside the United States.

Foreign Patent Protection. You should seek patent protection in the foreign countries, and you can expand the potential market for your invention.

Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).  PCT allows an inventor claim priority date from the initially filed U.S. application, and enable you to reserve the right to file a utility patent application in more than 100 countries for 30 months from the initial filing.
